The Taste of the District with Senator Jamaal Bailey and the Y.M.C.A on April 20th was a delicious event in the heart of the district that brought together local officials and community members alike. This event featured a variety of delectable dishes handcrafted by local restaurants which were enjoyed by all who attended. As a senior player, I got an opportunity to play with other seniors and young adults. It has been years since I’ve played and I was grateful for the chance to meet other chess players. Seniors and young adults; experience and novice players were excited in anticipation of the on-the-board challenge. I adored every minute. Although this was a 4-week session, it was extended for another week due to popular demand! Thank you, Mr. Romeo for bringing this community of chess players together.
