The first elementary school I ever taught chess at in 2018. It was a struggle for me at the beginning, but worth it. I always said, “without struggle there is no progress”. I taught 4th & 5th graders during the school day. I also taught 1st, 2nd, & 3rd graders during lunch period to keep them on point too.
This space is built on building one’s mind for our beloved young people. They absolutely enjoy themselves learning chess. And they learn so much more in the process of being there and being taught lessons on life, integrity and all good things.
I want to give a huge shoutout to Mr. Romeo for the incredible work he’s doing at our public library. My son attends his chess classes, and the growth I’ve seen—not just in his chess skills, but in his focus and confidence—has been fantastic. What makes Coach truly special is his commitment to our community. He generously gives his time and expertise to make these classes available to local kids. He is patient, encouraging, and has a real gift for teaching the game in a way that clicks. We are incredibly lucky to have him!”
