The Taste of the District with Senator Jamaal Bailey and the Y.M.C.A on April 20th was a delicious event in the heart of the district that brought together local officials and community members alike. This event featured a variety of delectable dishes handcrafted by local restaurants which were enjoyed by all who attended. Young kings and queens chess club has changed my mindset towards life it had made me a better person overall and I know it can do the same for you
First of all, I am 82 years old. I met Mr. Romeo in Co-op City about a year ago. I’m part of JASA which is comprise mostly of seniors. I attended his chess program in November of last year and haven’t stop yet. I’m in his program right now. He his very patient with me and has help me to regain the feeling to be more active and outgoing. What I love the most about him us that he always checking on me to see how I am doing. Its not just about him teaching chess with you, it’s about the relationship after he do so. I was impressed when he supported us and did the senior walk with us in Co-op City last week.
